Hello – That’s me Brian Westman at Xiangang Reservoir, China during one of my furniture trips. My Agency or management work gives me chance to travel extensively and always in great company. The world is full of great people.

Welcome to my World

My journey into the world of furniture began in 1989, following my studies and brief forays into a few alternative junior “professional” careers. A chance meeting led me to Porcupine Furniture, where I was immediately captivated by the people, their creativity, and the camaraderie that defined the industry.

Inspired by the art of personal and product storytelling—both in-store and at exhibitions—I quickly embraced the business. Within a year, I had established myself as one of the youngest freelance agents in the UK at the time.

Furniture, like all forms of fashion, is about far more than price and function. It is a blend of style, trend, quality, substance, service, and support—each adding its own value. The same can be said for the people within the industry. While I cannot speak for all sectors, furniture, as something of a “cottage industry,” is built on relationships—on the loyalty and trust we place in one another to supply, deliver, and ultimately create the best possible experience for the consumer.

“Don’t mix business with pleasure” is perhaps the worst advice I was ever given—and one I am glad I chose to ignore. The furniture industry has become my second family (my wife would argue it is my first), and it is something I continue to embrace with genuine passion.
